You need software that can write the jpeg (.jpg) format. It *should* be a
simple matter of choosing the format in which the file is saved, and then
saving a copy in the new format. Jpeg files are compressed (it is a
"lossy" format that loses some detail every time the file is saved, a
tradeoff for a smaller file size). One program for the Mac that can handle
the conversion is "GIFConverter." A copy of that (and many other useful
programs) comes on the CD packaged with the book "Internet File Formats,"
by Tim Kientzle. That book is now remaindered, and available CHEAP from
Edward R. Hamilton, while they last (go to http://www.hamiltonbook.com for
information, although that particular book might not be in their online
catlog ... it IS in the latest printed catalog). Or see what formats can
be written by whatever software you already have. Both formats, gif and
jpeg, are VERY common Internet graphics file formats, and widely supported.
