Elementary Library Automation

Hello,

        I have a question for elementary school librarians whose
libraries are automated. For the past year or so, I have been working on
getting grants to automate my two elementary libraries. I thought I had
the backing and support of my principals, but today I found out that they
rate automation a very low priority. My question is, what are the
advantages of automating that I can tell my principals. Thanks.
