LM_NET: Library Media Networking

Hi ... this reminds me of my library experience long ago (in the marvelous
historical landmark A.K. Smiley Public Library, Redlands, California).  I
had an advanced reading level (nominally college level by the time I was in
6th grade).  My parents signed the form so that I could check books out from
the adult section (not "adult" in today's terms! -- the main section of the
library, distinct from the children's section), and I spent many, many happy
hours trolling the stacks and hauling home all sorts of books.

That matter of waiting for books, though ... these days, I buy a LOT of new
books (in hardback, even), as life is too short to wait for the library
(even the one I work in!) to buy and process new books, assuming the library
will even order them.  I'll die broke, but well read.
