Hello everyone, this discussion of cataloging is getting real good - well, it has been real good from the beginning; perhaps I'm just getting good at reading it all . . . 8-) I realize that most catalogs are based on the conventions computers and humans have about databases... [we've discussed the ability to re-enter the last entry from the previous record when building and updating records - which I never did hear from any vendors or makers of software, so I guess it wasn't all that good an idea in the first place. . .] ... These discussions about local information and such brings to mind the notion of a "search and add" function not too unlike our "search and replace" functions or global update functions which require a keyword or such with which to select records to modify ... In our discussions here, we could search on the keyword 'horror' and add the term 'scary' ... which becomes another keywords with which to locate that item ... the computer would identify all records with the word horror and add the term scary for our group of students ... It would also allow regional terms or slang words to be entered without all the work ... a global update! Just a passing thought... Aloha... Earl J. <center>Earl J.
