Is There a God?

        What is wrong with this picture?  A professional listserv, that is
made up of mostly librarians.  Librarians who bemoan the fact that they
get little respect in their job, or they are overworked, or they are
losing their positions to aides or technologists.
        This professional listserv that when I signed on, on Thursday
March 5, had many messages for me about:

        Irish Potato Recipe
        Man Oh Man
        Squirrels Chewing Wires

        If you ever think that we as a profession, shoot ourselves in the
foot by what we do, we certainly know how to prove it.
        Is there a God above......
