Dear LM-Netters Recently our community's cable educational access group moved their headquarters and equipment into the high school. The channel has been used to air and re-air school board meetings, school events, and public meetings pertaining to the school dristrict on topics of interest to the community. A teacher who is also on the cable board came to me, the "copyright expert". (I wish) The group is interested in taping educational programming which is aired by broadcast networks, cable providers, and also make use of the c/ku band satellite dish owned by the school district in order to re-air the educational programming on the local educational access channel provided by the cable company. Is this legal? Are there copyright issues that need to be dealt with? I don't know the answer and I'm not sure where to go to find the answer/s. Do any of you with similar experiences know where we could start? Thanks for the help.
