Hi group,

Last week Library Video Company released "Internet Searching Skills." This
25-minute video packs a lot into it. It was developed by our own Joyce Kazman
Valenza. The video guides the viewers through a model problem while presenting
essential and transferrable concepts:

        Identifying a search problem;

        Selecting appropriate search tools, subjects and keywords;

        Using Boolean operating, phrase searching and truncation;

        Evaluating Web pages;

        The importance of processing, organizing, communicating and responsibly
treating the information                gathered.

Eleanor Mondale is the host. You will recognize many of the sites visited, Debbie
Abilock's, Kathy Schrock's, Kids Connect, etc.

A companion teacher's guide is included. Students and faculty will retain this
information, the format is fast-paced, but easy to comprehend. For the students
who know the Internet, this is the up-to-date back-to-school refresher they will
need to keep their skills present.

In the May/June issue of Knowledge Quest, it is the only video listed for Internet
inservice. It is available from Schlessinger Media, 800-843-3620 or
http://www.libraryvideo.com.  The cost is $29.95?

This is an OSCAR willing educational video.
