REF: Celebrity activists

I need to put together lists of the following:

1. celebrity activists, preferably ones who champion psychological/
sociological/children's/medical causes such as help for abused children,
ways of overcoming adversities, etc., as opposed to environmental,
economic, or animal causes
    e.g., Elizabeth Taylor and her support of AIDS research

2.  celebrities who have written a book about such a cause or about
overcoming adversity
     e.g., Suzanne Somers and her book on the problems of adult
     children of alcoholics

3.  authors who have become well-known celebrities because their
self-help type books have become bestsellers
     e.g., Deepak Chopra, M. Scott Peck, Dr. Ruth Westheimer

The more information I can get about these celebrities and their
causes and/or books, the better.  I will eventually need their
addresses (or the names of their publishers or agents) as well.

Anything any of you can do to help me with this would be greatly
appreciated.  Thanks.
