I turn, again, to you for help. The 8th graders in my school are reading "To Kill A Mockingbird." The Learning Center teacher needs a title that is somewhat like that book for her students. The reading level of her students range from 2nd or 3rd grade to about 5th grade. I tried to find an adapted edition of "To Kill A Mocking Bird" with NO luck. So, my other idea was a similiar book with the theme of racial conflict / racial prejudice for those students. I am asking for your suggestions. Of course when I talked with her late this afternoon, my brain was not functioning. But, I have since thought about some of Mildred Taylor books. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated!! PLEASE, PLEASE reply to my email address as I have temporarily set my LM-Net account for No Mail. P.S. I look forward to seeing friends at the MASL (Missouri Assoc. of School Librarians) convention later this month.
