FAVORITE BOOKS

My favorite book as a not so little child was Anne of Green Gables.  My
mother had a copy and a few of the sequels also. I read and re read them.
They were really old with old fashioned pictures.  I remember wanting
deperately to have red hair like Anne's.  (Of course, my hair was dishwater
colored, very common and ordinary.) I wanted to live in the country and
have a terrific imagination just like Anne.

I thought for years that this series was unknown except to me,  until when
I grew up I learned it was quite popular and becoming more so.  Now I am
delighted when kids in my library take the books out and enjoy them.
