Reading this thread has brought back so many memories.  When I first
came to this library ten years ago, I found the "orange" biographies
still on my shelves.  They weren't circulating and I sent them to one of
the elementary schools in the District where they still are.  Does
anyone remember Johnny Gruelle and Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy?  I can
remember my mother reading these books to me.  At one time I even had
the actual books, and then I lost them in a house fire several years
ago.  Does anyone remember The Trolley car Family?  I remember reading
that and the wonderful books by Lois Lenski.
