My husband wanted to know why I kept exclaiming this morning as I read my weekend email, and he was amused when he heard that I was reacting to the titles of old favorites, some of which I had almost forgotten. I appreciated hearing about Australian favorites. Have any Brits chimed in here (spelling it "favourites", of course)? Also, I agree with Earl's recent comment: "In all my libraries, I ensure that part of the annual order includes titles that are on the shelves but which even I wouldn't touch with the proverbial "ten-foot pole." Take a hint from your local bookstores which are using marketing strategies to promote their products." I do this too, and it's one way to help those oldies get off the shelves -- by making sure our copies look attractive.
