Below is a HIT for overhead bulbs - I asked specifically about DYS bulbs -
thanks to everyone who took the time to check the price for me -

SUMMARY:
Gray: 12
Interlight: 3
Curtis: 3
Heartland: 2
All the rest were only mentioned once.

I usually use Gray Supply 1-800-TOP-BULB. They seem to have it
all...at a comparable price...

This is my favorite place. You can use a PO with a phone order, too.
Gray Supply
1-800-TOP BULB
FAX 877-FAX BULB
www.topbulb.com

DYS (120 v / 600 watts) List price is $26.79 GRAY PRICE is $11.79

I've used Gray for years and am VERY PLEASED with quality of goods and
services received.=DD

http://www.audiovisualaids.com
or call: gray supply co. 1-800-238-2244
interlight specialty bulbs 1-800-743-0005

$11.79 from Gray Supply 1-800-TOP-BULB. Their prices are very
competitive on the bulbs that I use.

I use Gray Supply, 5204 Indianapolis Blvd, East Chicago, IN 46312-3838. A
long-life DYS bulb is $14.67. Any order over $100 gets free shipping, so
your order of 10 bulbs will easily qualify. You should have them in your
hands in about a week, if you phone in your order, 800-238-2244.

Although we "bid" our lamps, one of the easiest and cheapest companies
we have done business with is
Scott Electric
1000 S. Main Street
Greensburg, PA 15601
800-442-8045

You may also want to check your state bid list to see if there is a
"state" discount with any specific companies.

I have purchased filmstrip projector bulbs from Curtis Company in
Alabama. Their prices are much lower than anyone else's. I checked in
their catalog and the DYS bulbs are $7.40 each. I also checked in another
catalog and the DYS bulbs were $16.00, so you can see the savings is
considerable. My last order from them had a $5.00 shipping and handling
charge on it. I think that is standard, but you could check. Their
toll-free number is 1-800-325-6341. Their address :
        Curtis Company
        P.O. Box 36121
        Montgomery, AL 36121
Two years ago one of the bulbs only lasted a very short time. I
called them and they replaced it free with no questions asked. They do
accept purchase orders.

Please excuse the intrusion, but Brodart sells projections bulbs. Please =

refer to page 292 of our 1999 catalog, Our catalog number is 84402001
and sells for 18.50/ea. If you do not have our catalog, I would happy
to fax you the page for your immediate reference and send you a catalog.

I have used Gray Bulb Supply with good success. They seem to have good
prices too. 1-800-top-bulb or www.topbulb.com or Gray Supply 5204
Indianopolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN 46312-3838.

I recently purchased from Interlight because they were cheaper than Gray
on the bulbs I needed. May need to compare for each particular type of
bulb -- I purchased EYB bulbs.

We're fortunate that our REMCs (Regional Educational Media Centers)
serving our Intermediate School Districts do a statewide bid list
and we get great prices for lamps, equipment, etc.
Saves A LOT!

I ALWAYS order from:
Heartland Audio-Visual/Video
(800)345-6898
PO Box 10160
Olathe, KS 66061
Their service is great and prices the best!
Let's see, DYS cost $8.90.
They take PO orders over the phone, too!
They ship your order within 24 hours.

We use Camera Corner in Burlington, NC. The ordering info is at school
though.

I don't know where but our A/V repair guy always has us buy Sylvania
bulbs as they last longer. Just a thought.

I use Vantage Lighting which has the best prices I have come across and
I also order DYS bulbs. (they are also pretty quick)

I order my bulbs (DYS among them) from Gray, a midwest company. They
accept our POs and ship quickly.

We use Curtis in Alabama.

Great, cheap source...Heartland...1-800-345-6898; fax: 1-800-325-6341.
They were best prices and bulbs arrived rather quickly. They are very
accommodating(sp!) and take orders by phone w/P.O. or not.

We use Gray supply at 1-800-top-bulb or www.topbulb.com. They can do
overnight delivery. Right now, their prices for DYS are 11.79. We tried to
do local orders, but our source over town can't compete with the prices.

Interlight Specialty Bulbs
7939 New Jersey Ave.
Hammond, IN 46323-3040

Bulbs Direct

Dansville Central School System in Dansville, NY uses Gray's catalog.

We use School Speciality, head office in Salinas, Kansas though they have
regional offices. The one we go through is in Portland, Oregon. I have
also used Gray as well, though School Speciality gives me a 20% discount on
their price in the catalog.

Gray Supply Company, 504 Indianapolis Blvd., Eat Chicago, IN 46312-3838
Price 11.79 ea.

We order our bulbs from Curtis. I'm at home and don't have the 800
number here. At one time, I did check prices and thought Curtis was
good. Also have found them very helpful on the phone. I called the
compnay a couple of years ago about an item not in the catalog, and
Curtis supplied it for much less than a price I saw elsewhere.
