favorite books

Hi all!

And now that I've worn you out with requests, I just had to comment on the
favorite books thread, which I've really enjoyed reading. I'm glad someone
mentioned the Little Golden Books. These were the treats I received when
my parents went to the grocery store. I think they were 39 cents then! My
favorites were the Poky Little Puppy and the Lively Little Rabbit. I knew
them so well that when I bought them and began reading them to my
children, I was surprised to find that each one was missing one or two
illustrations. I thought maybe I was imagining things, but I could see
those pictures in my mind. Sure enough, when I visited my mom and compared
the old books, which she of course still had, I was right! Those pictures
were not in the new versions. It would be interesting to see the latest
versions; this was about 15 years ago. Hmmmmm.......
