I am presenting an inservice soon to librarians K-12 on a variety of topics including Info. Power Info. Lit. standards and state (VA) standards, literature circles, I-search papers, starting to develop a librarians' handbook, booktalking, Harry Wong, Big 6, web searching... I plan to allow time for the librarians to produce materials for use in their libraries, since we'll be in a computer lab. It is a 20 hour inservice (4 five hour days) and I have some friends coming to give their 2 cents on some of those topics. Have you given a similar presentation? Did you add any topics or delete any? Were some very successful and some so-so? Did the trainees like any particular ice breakers or small group activities? I'd appreciate any advice available. I've done technology training for teachers, but this is my first for my librarian collegues and I want to make it worth their while.
