REF: Art Programs in School Libraries?

This isn't exactly an art program but it was one of my attempts to support =
art in the school.

When I was a school library media specialist, I purchased one piece of art =
from the students each spring for $25. Then had it framed and attached a =
gold tag below identifying the student, the title of the piece, and the =
year. I hung those in the center (I had lots of wall space). To determine =
which piece to buy you can have students enter a competition like event =
and ask a couple of art teachers from a neighboring school or community =
artists to judge and choose which piece will be purchased by the center.
