We have a teacher who is looking for a Chinese legend...all of the animals
were asked to help and a rabbit offered itself as food. In remembrance of
this great sacrifice, the rabbit's image remains visible in the moon to
this very day. It is supposed to be a tale that provides an example of how
much a sacrifice can mean to others around us.

The teacher said that it was Buddha who made this request of the animals.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? I know it is somewhat vague but
thought that it might ring a bell with someone out there. It would be
greatly appreciated if we could find this one.

Thanks for your help!
