I only got one response on this question so I'm asking again.

How many of you have Reading Specialists or Reading teachers in your middle
schools?

If you do, what do they do? Do they teach regular reading classes to all
students? Do they just work with students who need extra help?

Our middle school is currently looking at our total program. One aspect we
are examining is our Reading program. Each house has a reading specialist.
She teaches Reading classes every other week (alternating with phy.ed.) and
works as Reading Resource on the off week. (usually this means work with
individual students or small groups. We need to know how other middle
schools use reading specialists.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. I will post a hit if I get some
responses. Thanks.
