I received several excellent responses to my request for historical
price comparisons. Several people asked me to compile a "Hit" and here
it is:

There is a site called " What's a Dollar Worth?" The address is:

It covers the years 1913 to 1998.

I recently purchased a book recommended here

There is a conversion chart that says that a dollar today was worth $13
in 1869. I do think that I need to find _Historical statistics of the
U.S. to 1970. If what you need was after 1913 we would have it made.
There is a good conversion chart.
