Favorite Book Activities/Readership Promo at middle school level

I will be presenting a workshop this summer on ways to promote literacy in
your school community.  I have some reading projects that I will be
speaking about, but I also would like to include a handout with a number of
other reading strategies/programs/activities described. I'll be happy to
post such a list when I compile it, but would love some input from others
on LM_NET! I know this is short notice as my workshop is at the end of
July, but I sure would appreciate any wonderful ideas out there! Thanks,
