This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_000F_01BED35E.33B77440 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hello everyone, I have a suggestion that might ease the tension about these book discussions... It is a compromise of holding them here and creating a new list ... There is a service called ListBot (http://www.listbot.com) that permits a person to create a listserv for free and permit that person to handle all the messaging automagically without human interference. In this fashion, a person may create a listserv of sorts just for a specific book; come to the LM_NET to announce its creation; and those that are interested may go and participate... I don't mind the book discussion concept personally, however, there may be individuals who would rather not have their emailboxes cluttered with irrelevant book discussions of any sort... This method has those individuals endure only one message announcing the listserv and then the discussions move there to conclusion... The creation of the listserv permits a person to make it a discussion forum as well as a newsletter - that function sends each post to all members of the list. The initiator does not have to compile posts or handle them in any fashion - they get sent to every member of the list. The listbot also creates a public archive for others to come and view at any time (viewers do NOT have to be members of the discussion group)... If this method is used, the initiator may also invite parents and students to participate as well and not risk the wrath of the "listserv membership police" ... 8-) Sound like a plan to anyone else?
