Hello! I'm currently investigating how Yahoo! searches the Internet. I tested the methods outlined in the help menu but I could not validate one strategy. Suppposedly, if Yahoo does not find any matches it sends the search to Inktomi, which is another engine that searches full text. The problem is when I type in an advanced search using a search string of text from the following web page www.geocities.com/Athens/Oracle/5650 Yahoo comes up with 0 matches, when technically, according to the method outlined in the help link, it should come up with the site. Yes, I am positive the site is in the Yahoo database because I have accessed it several different ways. Yahoo is also suppose to search by title. But what if the author of the web page did not title the page? Does Yahoo automatically count the first sentence on the page as a title or does it bypass the title search all together? Such complicated questions... I hope someone can help.
