ELEM: stu.-made bookmarks

Have you ever had students make bookmarks that you think really turned out well?
Please share your idea with me ASAP!

I want an easy 25-minute activity to do with 3rd and 4th graders during our
last week together. _Perhaps something that encourages summer reading.
 I had 4th graders use yarn to lace around the outside of paper-hole punched
tag a couple of weeks ago - those bookmarks were given to 3rd graders as
they toured their "new" library for next year at the intermediate school.
The 4th graders asked if they could make bookmarks for themselves -- I just
don't want to do the lacing ones again.  It didn't work so well to have them
do the punching and I don't relish punching 125 x 40 holes again!!
