TECH: Perpetual printing problems

Dear LM_NETter's:

If anyone has any suggestions to solve my printing problems I will be
eternally grateful.
1. We run IBM workstations on a WIN NT network.
2. We run two desktops, one for teachers, one for students with different
logins and passwords.
3. I have ten stations in the library.
4. Nine of those ten stations are networked to print to an HP 694 printer.
5. They will only print about 50% of the time.
6. They usually print if I am logged in, but not the students.
7. When logged on as a student you cannot see the settings-printers to
check the print queue or status of the printer.
8. I am printing from the internet, EbscoHost, AR, STAR.

I have been told:
Make sure the computer directly connected to the printer and the printer
are turned on first.

Any suggestions?
