Today's San Francisco Chronicle has a story about plagiarism.com. It was piloted by a class at UC Berkeley. It looks like a very useful service for schools but it makes no mention of prices. What is interesting about the story is the students knew the service would be used but the professor still found over 30 instances of plagiarism. The story is at: <http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/1999/11/0 5/MN106690.DTL> -- Tony Doyle, Librarian Livingston High School, Livingston, CA tdoyle@muhsd.k12.ca.us -----Original Message----- From: Ellen Fisher To: LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU Sent: 11/4/99 7:34 AM Subject: HS: detecting plagiarism Glatt Plagiarism Services, at plagiarism.com offers tutorial software and screening software to help avoid plagiarism, first by teaching what it is and how to avoid it, and then by detecting it.
