I have a question about what are considered electronic sources. English teachers have given a research assignment that requires at least one electronic source. Some teachers say students can use encyclopedias on CD-ROM or newspaper and magazines found in an online subscription in our library. Another teacher says that those count as print sources since they are reprints of articles published on paper. Only web sites - individual, org, gov., etc., count as electronic sources. Who is right? Or is there a definitive answer? I would like some consistency in my school so that I can correctly advise students when they say, "I have to have an electronic source." Thanks for your input. I hope there is some consistency with the answers I can get the teachers to come to a consensus about what an electronic source is. Cheryl B.
