help with a quote

A teacher has asked me to find a quote of which the sense is that life is
what happens between your looking backward at the past and planning for the
future.  She thinks "Life is what happens..." is definitely part of it, and
she's sure of the sense, but would like the accurate quotation.  I have
checked several editions of Bartlett's and a number of other quotation books
that we have without any luck.  I don't know any websites for searching
quotes.  Can anyone help me out?
