Hope you all are having a good beginning of school. We started with students last Monday. Our new automation program (Library World from Caspr) has a module for serials. I have been taking a look at it (in my "free time" <grin>) and think that it might be useful. I have a few questions for those of you who use this kind of program. I think that with some time put in now, it may well be easier later to check in the new issues as they arrive. Do you find this is true? I understand how to enter the title as a marc record. How important is it to put in the volume and issue numbers? In some cases this information is impossible to find on the title. Ditto for ISSN number. Are there MARC records for magazines that can be copied or downloaded like we do for books? What kind of subject headings do you put on titles like Discover, Good Housekeeping, World & I etc. Any advice would be appreciated. I would post a hit. Debbie Stafford Gen. H.H.
