I am a new LMS with a dual position. I am part time technology support and part time librarian. I am looking for an easy way for primary children to check books out (and In too!) I would like to avoid having them sign the cards if I can. There will be times when I am not in the library because of my dual position. I don't want this to stop children from exchanging books when I am not there. I would like volunteers to be able to bring children down for book exchanges at any time. Another reason to simplify it is so that less class time is taken up with this. Does anyone have a neat way to do this that they could share with me? I would also like any info out there on using a flexible schedule with K-1. Has it been successful, tips, suggestions, etc. My principal has set up scheduled classes for the first semester but really wants it flexible the rest of the year. Many teachers seem reluctant to do this. TIA for your help.
