Hello, I was recently hired as the LMS for a brand new, empty library. I have nothing, no shelves, no books, no OPAC I have four walls and a floor. Any help of any kind will be much appreciated. I've been a librarian for about a year, but this is my first school-library job. I am to be the teacher's special in a K-7 school. I only have 2 free periods a day not including lunch, except on Fridays when I have one. I don't believe I can put a library together with such limited time. At the moment, since ther is no library, I am wheeling a cart from floor to floor, telling stories to the younger children, showing videos to the older students. I need some suggestions as to what to do with them, until I get the library set up. I am expected to teach and set up the library. LEAP is a charter school in the Camden school district. Camden is a inner city district with many problems. Is there anyone out there who would like to venture suggestions. Help. -- Elizabeth Massaro, MS. Library Media Specialist LEAP Academy, Camden NJ.
