ELEM: AG books

The teacher of the Academically Gifted (AG) program at my school needs some
suggestions for current fictional literature to be used by fourth and fifth
grade children in the AG program. The literature needs to be of interest to
boys this age. Most of the books titles that we found would be of interest to
girls rather than boys. She would prefer that the story be contemporary and
that the main character be a male.  I told her that I would ask the question
on LM_Net so that we could get some good suggestions. Thank you for your help.
