HIT: Citing EBSCO, SIRS, etc

This actually isn't much of a hit, but several
people emailed me wanting to know what kind of
responses I received concerning MLA format for
citing EBSCO, SIRS, and other online subscription
databases.

Several people emailed me addresses of sites
that gave example of MLA citations.  I had looked
at most of them already, and there were discrepancies
between them.  Someone else said that it is not so
important to have an exact form...you just need to
be able to get to the cited site.  So placing the URL
before or after the date accessed makes little difference.
Everyone else wanted to know what I found out.

Personally, I think there's little use
in having an APA format or a MLA format unless it's
fairly definite.  If it's OK to change it to suit
yourself, what's the point?  For whatever it's worth,
I adjusted my handouts to agree as closely as possible
with the examples at www.mla.org.
