I have resisted the temptation to respond to the recent discussions of the above and similar subjects, but can resist no more. I'm disappointed that we are being so rude to our colleagues simply because they had the audacity to ask a question. It doesn't matter if the question has been asked 100 times or 100,000 times; most information isn't valid until that point in time it becomes important to the person seeking it. If I were the unlucky one to publicly be chastised for asking a question, I'm not sure I'd ever seek the help of those who have the answers. Yes, we are all very busy, but that's why we have the delete button. It truly bothers me that we have professional peers who may now be uncomfortable asking for help. Isn't that what our profession is all about? Don't we encourage our patrons to ask for help? Why not our peers? We need to help each other, not create chasms. Lynda N.
