Dear Becky,

There's a motion picture called _Party Girl_ starring Parker Posey as the
lead. She's only interested in a good time until her Godmother bails her
out of a situation which evolves from one of her parties. Her Godmother
is a librarian. The deal is that she helps her if Parker will come to
work at the library, a "real" job, and get her life together. There are
examples of the stereotypical librarian in this movie, but the scene that
I love is after an epiphany late one night while studying the Dewey
Decimal system. The next morning, Parker's character loses it all over a
patron when he just sticks a book back up on the shelf with no respect for
where it came from or where it goes. I laughed myself silly because I
don't know of a librarian or media specialist who hasn't wanted to scream
to the high heavens after carefully reading the shelves for the 467th time
when someone comes and carelessly messes it up. It's worth a look-see.

Cheers!
