Somebody recently sent me a whole list of the same type of brain teasers Laura's principal had....He said he got them from a conference he attended, and the presenter first had everyone try to figure them out alone. They didn't do very well, and he put them in groups, where of course they got a lot more right. I figure since librarians know just a little about nearly everything, y'all ought to be good at this. Could be used as an ice-breaking activity, to teach teamwork or to do right before Christmas break, I guess. Anyway, they're kind of fun. I will post the answers in a day or two. 16 = O. in a P. 26 = L. of the A. 7 = W. of the A.W. 1001 = A. N. 12 = S. of the Z. 54 = C. in a D.
