We updated our server last year with a large harddrive to which
we could copy CD-ROMS in place of another CD-ROM tower.
It makes sense for us because only 1 of our library computers
is attached to the internet, but 10 of them are attached to the
server/library network.  Whether it would make sense for you
really depends on what your setup is like.

Our favorite CD-ROMs are SIRS Researcher, and the Gale
DISCovering series; which are excellent resources for students.
