Hi Alice (and the US) Jamie McKenzie is also highly respected here in Australia and in fact, is giving one of the keynote addresses at the ISIS Conference, (Information Services in Schools) which is a huge online conference hosted by Charles Sturt University. Check out http://www.csu.edu.au/cstl/isis because you can still enrol and you don't have to go any further than your computer! When Jamie was here a couple of years ago his presentations were booked out (amazing because it was about $A100 a head, which is lots in comparison) but he really had an impact. His notions of guide on the side not sage on the stage, just-in-time learning not just-in-case, adult learning, and critical masses of computers (in the classrooms not in a lab) really made a huge impact, and the pond is still rippling. My principal heard the wisdom of the words, and really committed himself to the concepts and now Palmerston is one of the leaders in ICT in primary schools - and we spread the word and are always helping others to reach our standards. You can find Jamie at http://www.fno.org and have his monthly e-zine (hate the word) emailed free! He is a true champion of our cause and if he ever gets back here, I will be first in the queue.
