OH, it's really a whole 'nother ballgame at elementary. And the Espresso cart just wouldn't be a go! :D But we can add some comfort -- many have (a couch, a reading corner with kid appeal, stuffed animals, and so on). And we can update our displays and the way we present things. I bought quite a few of those little book easels for displaying books (instead of just standing them up on their own). And I use clear plastic stand-up frames with info or "sales pitches" in them. I keep one on each of the tables in the staff room too. Instead of listing today's luncheon specials or the wine list, they list some great new books "now available" in the library. I try to change them frequently so that they are read and not ignored. And when I swoop thru for mail, I move them from one table to another (ppl tend to sit in the same place day after day). There are little things we can do. On Sat, 29 Jul 2000, Dorothy E.
