Finding YA authors 6th to 8th grade students enjoy is a challenge, to
say the least.  Some of the current favorites in my school are Paul
Zindel, Joan Bauer, Robert Cormier and Michael Crichton.  My students
are also enjoying such non-fiction as The Century by Peter Jennings, The
Associated Press Covers the World, and The Greatest Generation by Tom
Brokaw.  Hope this helps.
