I am the library media specialist at a middle school in Coatesville,
Pennsylvania. We are located approximately 1 hour west of Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania. I've contracted Roland Smith, ( "Thunder Cave", "Sea Otter
Rescue", "The Captain's Dog: My Journey with the Lewis and Clark Tribe",
"Journey of the Red Wolf", etc.) for an author visit, April 2001. His visit
will include assemblies during the day and an evening program for the
parents and the community. Since he is coming from Oregon, I was hoping to
find a school in the Philadelphia-Lancaster region that would be interested
in having Roland Smith visit the day after he is scheduled for our school.
Although we've been awarded a grant for a large chunk of the expenses, I
would like to share the cost of his lodging and transportation with another
school or group.

If you are interested in exploring this possibility further, please email me
at the address below. I'm really looking forward to his visit. I think
kids, teachers and parents will be fascinated with tales and slideshows of
his ordeals in the wild as well as his presentation on his authoring
methods.
