Is there any way that a computer can get hit by lightning even though it is unplugged from the electrical and telephone supplies? After a severe thunderstorm yesterday with a lot of lightning, I had a memory decrease error in my Gateway. I could still use it, but every time the computer stayed off for a while, the error reminder would come up. This also happened two years ago at school to a Dell computer that was disconnected for the summer that was close to a VCR that was plugged in and was struck. I got three different answers from Gateway as to repair the problem, including reformatting the hard drive, when I finally took it to the Gateway Country Store for repair. I'll let everyone know the outcome, even if it does seem strange. Madeline Buchanan --------------------------------------------------------------------- Madeline L. Buchanan W. J.
