TARGET: 6th-grade level books on elections

After lurking on LM_NET for months, I need your help. I am working with some
teachers and the LMS from a New Haven public school on a collaborative lesson
for this fall about presidential elections (I'm sure this topic will be a big
hit this year!). Does anyone have any recommendations for suitable books,
especially fiction, to complement our lesson. These would be books the
students would be encouraged to read in addition to the ones they are using
for their research. The fiction books about elections don't have to be about
a presidential election, although it would be great if they were. I tried
looking in several bibliographies of children's literature and didn't come up
with much.
