I have to agree with Heather also. Having a replica of a weapon is a really good way to get shot if you happen to be at a school where there are security guards and/or police. With all of the school violence that has occurred recently, Columbine and most recently the incident in Florida, any school district that does not have a policy dealing with replica's is asking for trouble. Is Coos Bay's policy overkill, maybe, but those objects and that kind of behavior does not belong in a school at any time. If you defy the rules and policies of a school then you pay the consequences for your actions and ignorance of the rules is no excuse. All parents should take the time to find out what the policies of their schools are, but I doubt that the majority do. -- Jerry Kilmer Library/Media Specialist Ruidoso Middle School Ruidoso, New Mexico kilmerj@ruidoso.k12.nm.us =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
