I have to agree with Heather also.  Having a replica of a weapon is a
really good way to get shot if you happen to be at a school where there
are security guards and/or police.  With all of the school violence that
has occurred recently, Columbine and most recently the incident in
Florida, any school district that does not have a policy dealing with
replica's is asking for trouble.

Is Coos Bay's policy overkill, maybe, but those objects and that kind of
behavior does not belong in a school at any time. If you defy the rules
and policies of a school then you pay the consequences for your actions
and ignorance of the rules is no excuse.  All parents should take the
time to find out what the policies of their schools are, but I doubt
that the majority do.
