Hi Everyone,

Northern Trails Area Education Agency is seeking a dynamic media specialist
to provide leadership for our 24 public school districts and eight
accredited non-public schools in North Iowa.

We are looking for a top-notch candidate who has a proven record of working
with adults by providing staff development in the integration of
information media and technology into the curriculum. The person will
navigate the web effortlessly and work with our webmaster to add value to
our web presence.

The successful candidate will oversee a staff of four and a substantial
materials budget that supports a collection that consists of over 12,000
video tapes, CD-ROMs, and laser disks; hardware including digital cameras,
video projectors, and ibooks;  1500 boxed book sets as well as a
professional library. We provide our schools electronic databases including
ProQuest Professional Collection, eLibrary Classic, eLibrary Elementary,
Encyclopedia Britannica and three Grolier's encyclopedias.

Iowa has an extensive fiber optic network of over 600 sites that allows for
full motion video conferencing that we use for classes, training and
meetings. The network also  provides schools with T-1 Internet access.

Northern Trails Area Education Agency, an intermediate service agency, is
located in Clear Lake, Iowa. Clear Lake provides many recreational
opportunities, has 12 antique shops (at last count) and is home to the Surf
Ball Room, famous for it's connection to Buddy Holly.

We are looking for the type of person people would hate to see go and
wonder how they will get along without.  MA and K-12 media specialist
license (or eligibility for one) is required.
