Dear Aileen
I cannot remember if I replied to your original post - if I did then scrap this one.

In Australia, there have been a number of 'research models' developed over the last
30 years as the
notion of process-based learning has become the norm. What has come from this is a
widely-used
process dubbed the "Information Literacy Process" and I have provided an outline of
this on our
school website.

Go to http://www.palmdps.act.edu.au > Resource Centre > Information Resources
(either in the graphic
or the hotlinks below it)

The target audience for this is our parent body to help them help their children so
it is rather
simplistic but it would get you started. The beauty of this process is that all
teachers can use it
across all the curriculum areas including mathematics and so the kids are hearing
the same language
and practising the same skills in context all the time right from kindergarten (5
year olds). It
just becomes second nature to them.

In a few weeks, I will be uploading a Virtual Visit to Canberra, which is
Australia's national
capital and where we live, created entirely by our students using this process.
The key factor is
that they are just 9 years old!

Cheers
Barbara
