Here are my recent favorites: The Poisonwood Bible, Barbara Kingsolver. A leap way ahead in scope and importance for her. This is the stunning and engrossing story of a missionary family in the Congo in the 50s, told through the voiuces of four daughters and the other. Highly recommended. The Foreign Student, Susan Choi. I love novels where I learn some history and goegraphy as well. The relationship between a refugee from the Korean War and a young woman in Tennessee in the 50s. Really fine. All of Louise Erdrich -- Jane Hyde, Librarian 828-684-6232 x121 St. Dunstan Library jhyde@christschool.org Christ School 500 Christ School Rd. Arden, NC 28704 The stars, after all, hang over pigs as they do above all the rest of creation, and who knows what deep dreams a pig may be dreaming? -- William Steig =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
