Greetings, A teacher believes that this is not the work of her student. Do you recognize this language or information? The assignment was to create a newspaper and the student selected the book, One Tree Island, by Ed Machado. This is what the student wrote as an obituary: Aku and Meva had been the ones that rescued Shane and Shela from Crab Island and they have grown to love each other. During the hurricane Aku, Meva, Shane, and Shela had strapped themselves to the old, amazing tree on One Tree Island. Wave after wave pounded at the tree as everything around them was being swept away. ...... She struggled to the surface but another wave just as big as the last crashed upon her one more time. The three on the tree could see her pop up and yell, "Aku, Aku!" with a desperate voice. ... As they dropped in the pearls each laid a memory for the two friends they had loved so much. They would never meet anyone else like the loving couple that took them in, Aku and Meva. ???? Thanks for any help.
