In a previoius school with MANY, MANY transit families and many lost
books, I tried to get all books in over holidays.
In my current position, 99% of the students are responsible. I tell
them not to take the book out of town with them if they are making a
trip and let them keep books. This a foreign concept to several
teachers who insist their students must return books.
In 4 years the only lost book over the holidays belonged to the child
of one of our administrators!
