Lynn and others: As an LMS grad student, I'm wondering ---Is there much of a problem with teachers assigning projects without checking first to see what resources are available ? I'm thinking of this floral arrangement project, as an example -- perhaps the teacher has his or her own texts, but how many of these would be reasonably available to the students? Of course, there may be information on the web -- but I'm wondering more generally -- does teaching staff check with you to make sure there is a reasonable chance of finding appropriate resources before they assign projects? Or are you often getting surprised with "impossible" requests after the assignment is made?
