Thanks so much to all of you who came through for me (as usual) in a pinch!
Here is one of the replies I got, just in case you were wondering.

The guards are officially called the Queen's Guard.  There are 5
regiments of the Guards Division - the Grenadier, Coldstream,
Scots, Irish and Welsh Guards.  All wear a scarlet tunic and a
bearskin hat or "busby", the regiments being differentiated by the
grouping of buttons on their tunics and by plumes of various
colours worn in the busby (Scots Guards have no plume).
